Pilgrimage: Have You Embarked?

Yebo Life has moved from a season of finding its feet to one of planting its roots (come on, somebody). I stand in awe of where God is taking us. Our roots will run deep.

Yebo Life started with Julie and me — a newlywed couple called to Cape Town. Its now a diverse team of servants that's taking responsibility for its city. We'll see mountains moved in the name of Jesus! We've made significant ground over the last 16 months. We've embarked on a pilgrimage.

It seems that our hearts naturally desire a pilgrimage. A journey with depth, purpose, and meaning. When we deny our hearts the pilgrimage that they long for, life loses its value. Left unresolved, we live life feeling as though we are hamsters on a wheel, drifting from place to place, managing the demands of employers, co-workers, friends, and family.
— Joey Lankford

The desire for pilgrimage is etched into our DNA, whether we know it or not. If you don't know what journey He's calling you to embark on, stop for bit. Breathe. Commune with God, and He'll share with you. Always first: heart to God.

If you know what He's calling you to do right now, in this season, my question to you is simple: Are you doing it?

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
— Psalm 84:5-7, NIV

When Jesus sends you on a journey, He blesses people through your presence — as if it was Jesus Himself meeting them face-to-face. He restores hearts and brings people back to Himself. And not only that, but when we're obedient to His call, we get to witness Him at work. Be a part of it! You'll marvel at what He does.
