Yebo Life hosted its second Your Story Retreat in Cape Town last weekend. Tony, Julie, Fanus (a new addition to the Yebo Life team), and six other young adults gathered in Stellenbosch for two nights to pray, worship, and discuss our stories in the context of God's much bigger story.
We were expectant, and God definitely showed up. Throughout the weekend He spoke words of grace, healing, reconciliation, and forgiveness over the group.
We spent the first evening sharing — testimonies, stories, and a winter soup meal! Then on day two, we dove into our first four discussions: the importance of having a Kingdom perspective, identity, the roles we play in life, and obediently responding to God's call.
The other members of our Yebo Life team, Richard and Natasha, showed up on Saturday evening for dinner and worship, and our friends Kelvin and Simone also joined in on the fun! The whole scene was an amazing picture of how God uses his children to edify and build His church.
Oh and you have to check out the video below of the very talented Natasha leading the group in worship! We spent Sunday morning discussing our last topic: the opposition and fear Christ followers face when they step out in faith.
One last thing! We're excited to finally announce that we're changing the name of the Your Story Retreat and E-course to Namesake! We believe the new name better encapsulates the heart and mission of our retreats and coursework — to encourage people to rise up to their namesakes, to who God's called them to be.
