Three weeks ago Julie mentioned that we have some exciting news to share. Some people thought we were pregnant... alas, we are not! However, we are so excited to announce that.....
Ross and Catherine Krabbe are joining Yebo Life!!!!!
That's right! Yebo Life officially has two new team members (three if you count their "studly" dog Howie)! This amazing couple is being sent to Cape Town by City Hills Church in Knoxville. They're currently in the midst of fundraising* for their personal living expenses, and although their South African arrival date is ultimately in God's hands, we're anticipating to have them on the ground sometime between September and November.
Ironically, the first "thing" Yebo Life ever did was host a retreat for women in January 2014, which was held at Catherine's family's farmhouse in Middle Tennessee. Still, we only met Ross and Catherine nearly two years later.
Our team is certainly going to be enhanced by Ross and Catherine, as they walk in very powerful yet very different gifts and skill sets. Ross (from Colorado) is a relationship guru, and his love for people is a rarity! Sharing Jesus with the world is the first and foremost thing on his heart. Practically-speaking, here's what his role will look like:
- Empowering local leaders by assisting with weekly operations support
- Facilitating local and global missions teams
- Establishing and building roots in local communities
- Seeing lives transformed by sharing Jesus through authentic relationships
Catherine (from Tennessee) so desires to see God's Kingdom come to earth, and I see her as a "puzzle-piecer" that'll continue building the infrastructure on which Yebo Life stands. Here's what her role will look like:
- Raising and maintaining awareness, both locally and globally, of Yebo Life and its partners
- Planning events to help facilitate local involvement
- Managing donor relations, including donor vision trips
- Equipping global missions teams to effectively engage local communities
I want to ask all of you to pray for Ross and Catherine as they transition out of life in the States and launch into a new season in South Africa. If you'd like to partner with the couple through financial giving, please click here. On behalf of Julie and myself, Yebo Life could not happen without each and every one of you. Thank you for always encouraging, loving, giving, and praying. You're a part of our army.
*As the founders of Yebo Life, Julie and I assume responsibility for fundraising for the organization's operating budget, which includes salaries for our South African staff. Our American team members are not currently paid a salary by Yebo Life. Instead, they commit to fundraising for their personal living expenses.
P.S. I couldn't resist showing you some photos of Howie... I told you he's a stud.
