Namesake is an eight-lesson workbook written by Yebo Life's co-founders, Tony and Julie Barwick. Inspired by their own journey of discovery, they developed this practical tool to help other Christian young adults gain clarity and direction in regard to their God-given callings.
During this 2-night retreat, held at Safe Haven in Fish Hoek, Tony, Julie, and Clayten will personally walk the group through the workbook, including 5 discussion topics. Participants can expect a powerful time of reflection and revelation.
If you find yourself asking questions like, "What is God calling me to do with my life?" you won't regret attending this event. Check out the photo blog from the 2016 workshop and the 2015 retreat.
What kind of culture do you live in and how has it shaped how you think today? How can you operate with a Kingdom mindset in a broken world? And why are forgiveness and redeemed perspective so important?
Who are you? What is your spiritual makeup? How has God created you with purpose and for a purpose? We'll talk about spiritual instincts, personality type, spiritual gifts, and personal dreams and passions.
3. Life Roles & Vision
What roles have you been called to play in this season of life? Once we've helped you discern what your life roles are, we'll discuss why it's important to have a bigger picture vision for each of them.
4. Fear & Opposition
Jesus told us that the world will persecute His followers. How do we deal with opposition? How do we face our fears? The minute you start walking in your God-given calling, external and internal forces will come against you. But we won't give up. We won't back down.
5. Action Planning
OK, so by now, you should have a decent idea of who you are — of who God created you to be. How do you "do you" in the world? This session takes you beyond simply talking the talk. It urges you to ask the question, "How do I actually walk out my calling?"
The retreat is open to 8 young adults, ages 21-35.
