After-School Project

Restoring Hands • Lavender Hill

The children enrolled with Restoring Hands don't have anyone at home to help them with schoolwork, as their family members likely don't have the knowledge needed to assist them, or they return home late from work. Through this new project, children will 1) get help with their homework and projects and 2) realize improved grades and self-confidence. Renovations, furniture, equipment, and  supplies are needed to begin the program.

COMMUNITY PRIDE PROJECT

REVELATION MINISTRIES • LAVENDER HILL

Within Lavender Hill, there are numerous places used as informal dumpsites. Pastor Ivan and Bronwyn Jones believe that these areas reflect both the physical and spiritual states of the community. The Community Pride Project recruits local residents to clean the dumpsites and turn them into a place for people to sit, play, and braai. Through visual and spiritual cleansing of the ground, this project claims territory for the Kingdom of God.

PLAYGROUND FOR THE CHILDREN

BRIGHTLY BEAMS EDUCARE • LAVENDER HILL

Brightly Beams Educare does not have a playground or jungle gym, so when classes have outside time, the children must play in the gravel and dirt parking lot. This project involves installing a jungle gym as well as raising the outside wall to enhance security.

In return, the kids respond with a greater sense of appreciation," says Bronwyn. $2.50 will buy a gift for one child.

Soccer Cleat Drive

Future Stars • Lavender Hill & Capricorn Park

Future Stars reaches youth boys with the Gospel through soccer. Many of them struggle with fatherlessness and hopelessness, and the Future Stars coaches act as role models in their lives. Ten of the players are in need of new soccer cleats to continue participating in the program, which keeps them off the streets and, in the long-run, empowers them to rise up as leaders within their communities. $30.00 will buy a pair of shoes for one player.
